A.C.T.’s Strand Theater

The Strand is American Conservatory Theater’s second venue on Market Street, in a 1917 building that was a movie house and adult cinema before ACT bought and renovated it in 2015. The 283-seat main theater hosts ACT productions, plus the 100-seat Rueff intimate space upstairs and a ground-floor cafe. Programming leans contemporary, often work that ACT’s larger Geary Theater would not host.
