San Francisco Art Book Fair Returns to Dogpatch July 23-26 With Free Admission
The San Francisco Art Book Fair returns Thursday, July 23 through Sunday, July 26, 2026 at the Minnesota Street Project galleries in Dogpatch. Admission is free, no advance registration is required, and the 2026 edition marks ten years since the inaugural fair in 2016.
What It Is
The fair is an annual exhibition and sale built around art publishing and print culture, presented by the Minnesota Street Project Foundation. Independent publishers, artists, and designers from the Bay Area and beyond set up tables across the campus selling artist books, zines, prints, and small-press titles, alongside talks and workshops. Past editions have drawn exhibitors and visitors from around the world.
Among this year’s exhibitors is Creative Growth, the Oakland art center for artists with developmental disabilities, which is bringing handmade artist books, prints, and original artwork to its table, according to its announcement.

When: Thursday, July 23 through Sunday, July 26, 2026. The fair opens with a Thursday evening session and runs daytime hours Friday through Sunday; confirm the current schedule at sfartbookfair.com.
Where: The Minnesota Street Project campus in Dogpatch, across three buildings: 1275 Minnesota Street, 1201 Minnesota Street, and 1150 25th Street.
Cost: Free and open to the public.
Getting There
Muni’s T Third light rail runs on Third Street, two blocks east of the fair; the 23rd Street stop is the closest platform. Street parking in Dogpatch is limited during large events, so transit is the easier option. Note that the San Francisco Marathon runs the same weekend, July 25 and 26, with street closures along the waterfront, so allow extra travel time if you are coming from downtown. Also note that T Third trains are replaced by buses in the Bayview, south of the fair, on the July 25-26 weekend; service between downtown and the 23rd Street stop runs as usual.
