Red Poppy Art House is a living room that books concerts. This tiny nonprofit space on Folsom Street in the Mission presents live music, poetry readings, art shows, and community events in a room that holds maybe 50 people on a generous night.

What to Expect

The programming changes constantly. One night it is acoustic folk. The next it is experimental jazz or spoken word. Gallery shows rotate on the walls. The common thread is that everything here is local, independent, and presented without pretense.

Because the space is so small, every show feels like a house concert. You are sitting a few feet from the performers. There is no backstage, no barrier, no production budget to speak of. That rawness is the whole point. Conversations between sets happen naturally because everyone is basically in the same room.
