What you need to know
The Mission Community Market runs on Bartlett Street between 21st and 22nd, Thursdays 3pm to 7pm, March through November. It started in July 2010 as a grassroots neighborhood project. Foodwise took over operations in April 2018.
The market hosts about 25 small farms and food businesses. Vendors sell organic produce, prepared foods from local restaurants, and pantry staples. Programming runs in Spanish and English. The Market Match program doubles CalFresh EBT benefits, so shoppers using EBT get extra spending power on fresh produce.
Bartlett Street is a residential block one block east of Mission. The market closes the street to cars during operating hours.
The Mission sits in one of the city’s warmer microclimates. Evenings on Bartlett stay comfortable later into the fall than markets in foggier neighborhoods.
16th Street BART is about a 10-minute walk north. The 14 Mission and 49 Van Ness-Mission buses stop on Mission Street, one block west of the market. Street parking in the Mission on Thursday evenings is limited.
