Broadway’s Billionaires’ Row

The stretch of Broadway between Webster and Lyon runs along the top of the Pacific Heights ridge and holds some of the most expensive houses in the United States, a strip sometimes called Billionaires’ Row. Residents over the years have included tech founders, financiers, and the descendants of old San Francisco fortunes.

The houses are private and set behind walls and gates, but the north side of Broadway opens to a wide view over the Marina, the bay, Alcatraz, and the Golden Gate Bridge. The Lyon Street Steps at the western end descend toward the Palace of Fine Arts and are a popular outdoor workout. These are private residences; enjoy the view and the architecture from the sidewalk.
