The house at 2640 Steiner Street is a private Victorian that served as the exterior of the family home in the 1993 film Mrs. Doubtfire, filmed largely in San Francisco and starring Robin Williams, who lived in the Bay Area for much of his life. After Williams died in 2014, fans left flowers and notes on the steps for weeks.
It is one of several film locations in the neighborhood and remains a private home. The owners ask visitors to photograph from across the street and not to block the sidewalk or approach the door.
