About SoMa

SoMa sta per South of Market. Il quartiere si estende su ex aree industriali pianeggianti a sud di Market Street. I confini non sono coerenti; SoMa è spesso usato come termine ombrello per un’area che include Yerba Buena, il corridoio culturale di Western SoMa e South Beach vicino a Oracle Park.

Gli isolati intorno a Folsom e 9th Streets sono il centro della comunità gay leather della città e, dal 2018, il SoMa Leather District, il primo distretto culturale leather al mondo. Il Folsom Street Fair si tiene lì ogni settembre dal 1984.
