What to drink

The cocktail program is ingredient-driven, which means the drinks taste like the things they’re made from rather than being buried under sweetener. The agave-based cocktails (mezcal, tequila) and rum drinks are the strengths. The menu changes seasonally. If you’re not sure, tell the bartender what flavors you like. They know their list.

Food

The food menu focuses on Latin American small plates and shared dishes designed to pair with the cocktails. It’s bar food elevated enough to make a meal out of if you order a few plates for the table.

The view

Being on the 17th floor in Mission Bay gives you city views without the Union Square crowds. The area is newer and quieter than the typical rooftop bar neighborhoods. The space has an upscale-casual feel that fits the Mission Bay surroundings.

Getting there

Cavaña is at 100 Channel Street. The T-Third Muni line serves Mission Bay with stops nearby. If driving, the area has more parking options than most San Francisco neighborhoods.
