Valencia Room
The Verdict
"The Void Acoustics system makes this one of the better rooms for dance music in the Mission. Check the event calendar first, the night depends entirely on who's spinning."
What you need to know
The Valencia Room occupies the space on Valencia Street that was formerly the Elbo Room, a 30-year Mission institution. The revived venue operates as a two-story bar and nightclub with a state-of-the-art Void Acoustics sound system (the same brand that powers Monarch in SoMa). DJs rotate through house, hip-hop, Latin, and dance music, and the programming reflects the Mission’s musical diversity.
The drinks
Full bar with standard pricing. The focus is on the music and the dance floor rather than craft cocktails. Drinks are affordable by San Francisco bar standards.
The space
Two floors with distinct energy levels. The sound system is the real investment here, built for music that moves people. The crowd skews local and the vibe preserves the Mission’s nightlife culture.
