The Haas-Lilienthal House at 2007 Franklin Street is an 1886 Queen Anne Victorian and the only intact Victorian house in San Francisco open to the public as a museum, with period furniture throughout. It was built for the grocery wholesaler William Haas, and three generations of the Haas and Lilienthal families lived in it until 1972, when the family donated it to San Francisco Heritage.
The gabled, turreted house with its wraparound porch survived the 1906 earthquake and fire, which stopped a few blocks east of here. It now serves as the headquarters of San Francisco Heritage and offers guided tours several days a week. The interior shows how an upper-middle-class family lived in the 1880s.
