Twin Peaks
The Verdict
"Park at Christmas Tree Point, then take the short trail between the summits for the views without the crowd."
What you need to know
A pair of summits rising 922 feet above the city, with panoramic views in every direction. It is the second-highest point in San Francisco (after Mt. Davidson at 928 feet) and the highest you can drive to.
Christmas Tree Point is the main viewpoint, and a short trail runs between the two peaks for additional vantage points. The wind is fierce, so bring layers. The parking lot fills up fast at sunset, so arrive early.
Getting There
Drive up to the lot, or take the 37-Corbett Muni bus, which stops on Crestline Drive at the base of the hill.
