The oldest Chinatown in North America, a neighborhood since the early 1850s.

Start at the Dragon’s Gate on Bush at Grant and work your way through Waverly Place, Ross Alley, and Spofford Street. The Tin How Temple on Waverly Place, founded around 1852, is one of the oldest Chinese temples in the United States and still active; the current building dates to 1910, after the 1906 earthquake destroyed the original. Guided food tours run daily.
