Arsicault Bakery
The Verdict
"Go early on a weekday and get the plain croissant first, then the almond."
What you need to know
The Food
The plain croissant is the signature. Flaky, buttery, deeply caramelized on the outside. The almond croissant is the other most-ordered pastry. Pain au chocolat, kouign-amann, and a small selection of other pastries fill out the case. The menu stays tight.
The Space
Small, counter service. The Inner Richmond original on Arguello is the smallest of the three locations. A second location is in Civic Center, and a third opened at Mission Rock. A downtown shop is planned. Weekend mornings draw lines at all of them.
Practical Info
Price: Croissants $5 to $7
