What you need to know
Golden Gate Bridge橫跨連接San Francisco與Marin County的海峽，全長1.7英里，於1937年5月開通，歷經四年建造完成。
設計
Joseph Strauss是總工程師，裝飾藝術風格的設計主要來自建築師Irving Morrow。國際橘色最初只是一層底漆，因為在霧氣與海面下依然清晰可見而被保留下來。橋塔高746英尺，兩條主纜所含的鋼線總長足以繞赤道三圈以上。
步行與騎行
沿東側步道步行橋樑來回約需一小時，可眺望城市、Alcatraz與海灣。多數日子風勢穩定，霧氣可能瞬間使能見度幾乎降至零，或突然散開，因此建議多穿幾層衣物。騎行速度較快；常見的半日行程是騎到Sausalito，再搭渡輪返回。
觀景點
Fort Point就位於南塔正下方。Baker Beach從西南方提供長距離景觀。Marin一側的Battery Spencer可俯瞰整座橋樑結構。Crissy Field則從南側提供正面視角。夜間橋樑會點燈。
交通方式
Welcome Center的停車場在週末很早就會停滿。從市中心出發，可搭乘30或45號公車北上再轉乘，或從Salesforce Transit Center搭乘Golden Gate Transit巴士。
Pro tips
Dress in layers — it's always windier on the bridge than in the city. The walk across takes about 35 minutes each way. Battery Spencer on the Marin side offers the best photo angle looking back at SF. Start from the Welcome Center on the SF side for parking and restrooms.
