Liguria Bakery
The Verdict
"They close when the day's batch sells out, often by late morning. Go early."
What you need to know
Liguria Bakery makes one thing: focaccia. The Soracco family has baked it on Washington Square in North Beach since 1911.
The Food
Flat sheets of focaccia, cut to order and wrapped in white paper tied with string. Plain, rosemary garlic, and green onion are the standards. Raisin and a few other varieties rotate. When the day’s batch sells out, the doors close.
