Sunny Andersen Chanel, daughter of founders Ray and Joan Andersen, runs the shop and keeps prices at non-collector levels. The inventory leans toward 50s jazz, 60s rock and folk, 70s fusion, classical, movie soundtracks, comedy albums, and children’s music. There’s a listening station to sample before buying.
Visiting
Located at the corner of Market and Octavia. Open daily 12pm to 7pm. The space is wheelchair accessible.
Getting there
Van Ness Station and Church Street Station, both on the Muni Metro (J, K, L, M, N, T lines), are within walking distance. The 22-Fillmore bus runs on Church Street nearby. Metered street parking on Market is available but competitive during business hours.
