Pizzeria Delfina
The Verdict
"Walk in at the Mission location. Margherita, salsiccia, or the clam pie. The casual sister to Delfina down the block."
What you need to know
Pizzeria Delfina is the more casual sibling to Delfina, a few doors down on 18th Street in the Mission. Craig and Anne Stoll opened it in 2005 to serve Roman and Neapolitan pizzas with the same farm-driven ingredient sourcing as the parent restaurant. Walk-in only at the original location. Three additional outposts in Pacific Heights, Burlingame, and Palo Alto.
The Food
Margherita, salsiccia (sausage and onion), and a clam pie that has been on the menu for years. The dough is fermented overnight and cooked in a wood-fired oven. Antipasti and a tight Italian wine list fill out the menu.
