What you need to know
When plague steals 11-year-old Hamnet from his loving parents, Agnes Hathaway and William Shakespeare, they must each confront their loss alone. Out of the greatest suffering, something of extraordinary wonder is born. This is the U.S. premiere of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s elegant and beguiling stage adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s bestselling novel. Award-winning playwright Lolita Chakrabarti (Life of Pi, Red Velvet) adapted the work, with direction by Erica Whyman. Runs approximately two hours and 30 minutes, with one intermission.
