Dear San Francisco
The Verdict
"Book seats close to the stage. The acrobatics are genuinely impressive and the intimate venue makes it feel personal. A worthy successor to Beach Blanket Babylon."
What you need to know
Dear San Francisco is a 90-minute acrobatic show at Club Fugazi on Green Street in North Beach. The 7 Fingers, a circus collective founded by Bay Area natives Gypsy Snider and Shana Carroll, created the show as a love letter to the city. It opened in 2021 in the same venue that hosted Beach Blanket Babylon for 45 years (1974 to 2019).
What to expect
The show combines aerial acrobatics, Chinese pole, Korean plank, hand-balancing, juggling, and hoop diving with live original music, spoken word, and video projections. The performances trace San Francisco’s history and identity through circus arts rather than narrative. The theater is intimate enough that the acrobats perform feet from the audience.
