What’s there
A 14-acre park built on top of the Presidio Parkway tunnels, with views of the Golden Gate Bridge, the bay, and the Marin Headlands. Open lawns, picnic areas, a playground (the Outpost), and walking paths fill the space. Food trucks rotate through.
The Outpost Meadow expansion opened on July 17, 2025: a 1.5-acre picnic area with seating for up to 240, 19 picnic tables across three pods, BBQ grills, and shaded accessible tables. Two of the picnic pods can be reserved.
The park connects to trails leading down to Crissy Field and the waterfront.
Visiting
Located at Presidio Tunnel Tops in the Presidio, San Francisco. Daytime access. Admission is free. Tunnel Tops opened July 17, 2022 and has logged more than 5 million visits in its first three years.
Getting there
The PresidiGo shuttle (free) serves the Presidio and stops near Tunnel Tops. Several Muni bus lines serve the surrounding Marina and Presidio area. Parking is available in the Presidio but fills on weekends. Walking from the Marina takes about 15 minutes.
