What you need to know
A mile-long beach at the southwest edge of the Presidio, with the Golden Gate Bridge in view to the north.
The water is too cold and the currents too strong for swimming, so this is a beach for walking, picnicking, and bridge views rather than getting in. The north end is clothing optional. Picnic tables and grills are available, and parking fills early on weekends.
