What you need to know
The Buena Vista has poured Irish coffee at Hyde and Beach since 1916. The current recipe came about in 1952 when owner Jack Koeppler and travel writer Stanton Delaplane spent a night recreating the drink Delaplane had at Shannon Airport. About 2,000 Irish coffees a day, made assembly-line style in pre-warmed glasses.
