Where to Watch the FIFA World Cup 2026 in San Francisco for Free

The FIFA World Cup 2026 runs through its final on July 19, and San Francisco has five free public fan zones where you can watch the knockout rounds on big screens. The Bay Area Host Committee organized the sites as part of a regional network of more than 30 free viewing venues, announced in April 2026. Here is where to go in the city, plus how the Bay Area fits into the tournament.

San Francisco’s Free Fan Zones

Five San Francisco locations have anchored the city’s free public viewing since the tournament began on June 11:

  • Thrive City at Chase Center, the plaza next to the arena in Mission Bay, hosted by Golden State.
  • China Basin Park at Mission Rock, along the waterfront near Oracle Park, hosted by Giants Enterprises.
  • PIER 39 at Fisherman’s Wharf.
  • Yerba Buena Lane downtown, hosted by Pride House SF.
  • The Crossing at East Cut, hosted by Pride House SF and Street Soccer USA.

All of the watch parties are free to attend. Exact match schedules and hours for each site can change based on FIFA and broadcast approvals, so check the current lineup on the official Bay Area events page before you go.

How the Bay Area Fits In

Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, branded the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium for the tournament, hosted six matches: five group-stage games in June and one Round of 32 match on July 1, according to FIFA. Those local matches are now finished, but the fan zones continue for the rest of the tournament. The World Cup final is scheduled for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Watching at a Bar

Many neighborhood sports bars are also showing matches. The Bay Area Host Committee published a public screening playbook that lets bars and restaurants host their own viewing events, so options run well beyond the official fan zones.

Getting There

Thrive City sits next to the UCSF/Chase Center station on Muni’s T Third light rail line in Mission Bay. China Basin Park and PIER 39 are both along the waterfront, served by the E Embarcadero and F Market historic streetcars.
