The Book Club of California est une organisation à but non lucratif fondée en 1912 et consacrée à l’imprimerie fine, à l’art du livre et à l’histoire littéraire californienne. La collection de la bibliothèque comprend des éditions rares, des livres de presses fines et des ouvrages sur la Californie et l’Ouest non détenus par la plupart des bibliothèques publiques.
Le club organise régulièrement des conférences, des expositions et des événements sur la typographie, la reliure, l’imprimerie letterpress et l’histoire littéraire. De nombreux événements sont ouverts au public.
L’espace est petit. Une visite prend 20-30 minutes pour parcourir l’exposition actuelle.
