San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park
The Giants play two home series this week. They host the Washington Nationals on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, June 8 to 10, then the Chicago Cubs on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 12 to 14. Tickets are sold through the team.
FIFA World Cup Free Fan Zones
The FIFA World Cup begins June 11. San Francisco runs free public watch parties with matches on big screens. The Pier 39 Fan Zone opens June 12, and free screenings at China Basin Park at Mission Rock begin June 13. The first Bay Area match, Qatar against Switzerland, is June 13 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

Chinatown Night Market
The Chinatown Night Market runs on the second Friday of the month from May through October. It closes five blocks of Grant Avenue for food vendors, lion dancing, live performances, and local merchants.
International Queer Women of Color Film Festival
The 22nd annual International Queer Women of Color Film Festival screens 34 films by queer women, transgender, and nonbinary filmmakers of color over three days, June 12 to 14, at the Presidio Theatre. Every screening has open captions, audio description, and ASL interpretation.
Saturday, June 13
Juneteenth Freedom Celebration in the Fillmore
The Juneteenth Freedom Celebration takes over eight blocks of the Fillmore with live music, a classic car show, a hair and fashion show, food vendors, and a family area. It runs from 11am to 6pm. Admission is free, and organizers ask attendees to RSVP online.
Northern California Soy and Tofu Festival
The 14th annual Soy and Tofu Festival is the Nichi Bei Foundation’s fundraiser tied to Japantown. It includes food vendors, cooking demonstrations, a tofu eating contest, and a dessert competition, from 11am to 5pm. There is a free shuttle from Japantown’s Peace Plaza.
Sunday, June 14
Stern Grove Festival Season Opener
The free Stern Grove Festival opens its 89th season with Peter Cat Recording Co. and Marinero at Sigmund Stern Grove in the Sunset. Gates open at noon and music starts at 2pm. Admission is free with a lottery or Community Box Office ticket. See our Stern Grove guide for how tickets work.
SFMOMA Free Family Day
SFMOMA holds a Free Family Day with art-making activities. Admission is free for up to four adults accompanying each visitor age 18 and under.
Inner Sunset Flea Market
The Inner Sunset Flea Market runs from 10am to 4pm with vintage goods, crafts, and local vendors at 9th Avenue and Irving Street.
Getting Around
The Juneteenth celebration closes Fillmore Street on Saturday, and the Stern Grove opener brings crowds to Sloat Boulevard on Sunday. The Muni T Third line serves Oracle Park, China Basin Park, and Chase Center for Giants games and World Cup fan zones. SFMTA lists current street closures and reroutes on its website. Check it before you drive or take transit.
