Bird & Beckett is a Glen Park bookstore on Chenery Street that hosts live jazz Friday and Saturday nights, plus poetry readings and a regular literary calendar. The shop opened in 1999 and the music side started as informal jam sessions before becoming a regular series. Capacity is small, maybe 50, and shows are pay-what-you-can with a suggested donation for the musicians.
