Things to Do in San Francisco on a Tuesday

The Tuesday farmers market at the Ferry Building wraps up by 2pm. After dark the options get specific: swing dancing to a live band at the Verdi Club, themed roller disco in a converted Fillmore church, and yoga inside Grace Cathedral.

Ferry Plaza Farmers Market

The Tuesday edition of the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market runs 10am to 2pm year-round at the Ferry Building, with about 20 vendors and hot lunch stalls. It is the smaller, quieter version of the Saturday market. See our Ferry Building guide for what is inside the building.

Woodchopper’s Ball at the Verdi Club

Every Tuesday the Verdi Club at 2424 Mariposa Street hosts Woodchopper’s Ball, a live-band swing dance from 9 to 11:30pm with a different band each week. Entry is $20 ($10 for students with ID, cash only) and includes a free drop-in lesson at 9pm. Fuller dance classes run from 7 to 9pm, and the bar and lounge open at 8pm.

Roller Disco at Church of 8 Wheels

Church of 8 Wheels, the roller rink inside a former church at 554 Fillmore Street, runs Tuesday sessions: all ages from 6 to 7:30pm, then themed sessions from 8 to 10pm that rotate through the month (goth skate on the first Tuesday, silent disco the second, guest DJ the third, K-Pop the fourth). Tickets are sold through the rink’s site.

Yoga on the Labyrinth at Grace Cathedral

Grace Cathedral on Nob Hill hosts Yoga on the Labyrinth on Tuesdays at 6:15pm (doors 5:30pm) inside the cathedral at 1100 California Street, with live music and classes taught by Darren Main, who has led the series for over a decade. Classes run about $20 to $22; there is also a Saturday 9am session.

Monthly Free Museum Tuesdays

On the first Tuesday of each month, the de Young and the Legion of Honor offer free general admission to their permanent collections (special exhibitions are still ticketed, and the free day pauses during Bouquets to Art week). The Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park is also free on first Tuesdays, and the San Francisco Botanical Garden is free on the second Tuesday of each month.

Planning Note

The Asian Art Museum is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For one-off events happening this week, see Things to Do in San Francisco This Week, updated every Sunday.
