The California Academy of Sciences Sets SuperNatural for October 24

The California Academy of Sciences has put tickets on sale for SuperNatural, its annual Halloween party, on Saturday, October 24, 2026. General admission runs 6:30 to 9 p.m., and VIP and Early Admission ticket holders get in at 5 p.m.

What Happens Inside

The museum’s event page lists a silent disco in the Steinhart Aquarium, trick-or-treat stations, live animal demonstrations, a Halloween ride, mad scientists with unusual specimens, craft tables, face painting and a photo booth. There is also a separate teen lounge with games and snacks.

Tickets and Prices

General admission: $60 for adults 18 and over, $55 for members. Youth tickets, ages 3 to 17, are $45, or $40 for members. General admission entry is at 6:30 p.m. and includes complimentary beer and wine for guests 21 and over. Food and cocktails are sold separately.

Early Admission: $750 for a family of four, $200 for one person. These include 5 p.m. entry, complimentary beer and wine for guests 21 and over all evening, and complimentary food until 6:30 p.m.

VIP packages: These add access to the VIP Garden plus complimentary food and a premium open bar for guests 21 and over. The Vampire Family package covers six people for $1,500 and the Werewolf Family package covers ten for $3,000. The twelve-person Werewolf Den at $3,750 is listed as sold out. A single add-on VIP ticket is $200 and is arranged by email through the museum’s events team.

The Rules to Know Before You Buy

Every adult ticket has to be accompanied by a child, so this is not an adults-only evening. Children between 3 and 17 need their own ticket, and children 2 and under are free. Costumes are encouraged, but the museum asks that they be child-friendly and that they not include sharp or pointed objects or anything that could be mistaken for a weapon.

Where It Fits in the Academy’s Fall

SuperNatural is the museum’s next headline event after Vivid: Immerse Your Senses closes on September 7. Between those two dates the Academy runs its permanent exhibits, the Steinhart Aquarium, the Osher Rainforest and Morrison Planetarium, plus the Thursday NightLife evenings for guests 21 and over.

Getting There

The Academy is at 55 Music Concourse Drive in Golden Gate Park. Regular museum hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, so SuperNatural runs after the building has closed to daytime visitors.
