San Francisco Signal Will Open Its First Home Season January 10 at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium

The San Francisco Signal, the city’s new professional women’s volleyball team, will play its first home match on Sunday, January 10, 2027, at 5 p.m. against LOVB Atlanta at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. League One Volleyball (LOVB) released its full 2026-27 schedule on Friday, November 6, 2026, and the league’s announcement lists the Signal’s home opener in Civic Center.

Season ticket memberships for every LOVB team, including the Signal, are on sale now, the league says. Playoff and broadcast details will come later.

The Signal’s first season

The Signal is one of four expansion teams joining LOVB for its third season, growing the league to 10 teams. Each team plays 22 regular-season matches, 11 at home and 11 away. LOVB is also adding conferences for the first time, and San Francisco plays in the Western Conference with Austin, Houston, Los Angeles and Salt Lake. Teams face each conference opponent three times and each team from the other conference twice.

The Signal opens on the road. Its first match is at LOVB Atlanta on Saturday, December 19, 2026, at Gateway Center, followed by a match at LOVB Nebraska on Wednesday, December 23, at Baxter Arena. The full schedule is on lovb.com/schedule.

Former UCLA coach Alfee Reft leads the team, and three-time Olympian Kelsey Robinson Cook, a founding member of the league, is on the roster, according to the San Francisco Standard. The Standard reports the team began training camp this week.

About the venue

Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, at 99 Grove St. across Civic Center Plaza from City Hall, was built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition and is owned by the city. It was home to the Golden State Warriors from 1964 to 1966, and today it mostly hosts concerts and events. The Civic Center BART and Muni station is a few blocks away on Market Street.

A busy January for women’s sports

The next night, Monday, January 11, Unrivaled, the 3-on-3 women’s basketball league, plays a doubleheader at Chase Center. Valkyries star and WNBA Finals MVP Gabby Williams is scheduled to play for the Laces against the Lunar Owls at 8:30 p.m., and the Rose, with Valkyries forward Kayla Thornton, play the Hive in the first game, the Standard reports. In the South Bay, the Standard adds, PWHL San Jose hosts PWHL Las Vegas at SAP Center on January 13.
