Kim + Ono
What you need to know
What you’ll find
The kimonos range from everyday loungewear to statement pieces you could wear out. Prices run from about $115 for simpler styles up to $450 for premium silk pieces. The prints are bold and original. The washable silk options are practical for anyone who loves the look but doesn’t want to deal with dry cleaning. The shop also carries other apparel pieces, but the kimonos are the reason to visit.
Getting there
Kim + Ono is at 729 Grant Avenue, right on Chinatown’s main commercial strip. The 30 Stockton bus runs on nearby Stockton Street. Powell Street BART is about a 10-minute walk south. If you’re already walking Grant Avenue through Chinatown, it’s a natural stop.
