Stonestown Farmers Market
The Verdict
"Free parking in the mall lot makes this the most practical market for drivers coming from the west side and the Peninsula. Bring a jacket even in summer; morning sessions out here get a fresh ocean breeze."
What you need to know
The Stonestown Farmers Market is a Sunday market in the Stonestown Galleria parking area, between the Sunset and SF State, run by the Pacific Coast Farmers’ Market Association.
What’s Sold
Farmers, bakers, prepared-food vendors, and flower growers; many vendors also work the Clement Street market on alternating Sundays. The mall parking lot is free, which is unusual among the city’s farmers markets and makes it convenient to drive to from the western neighborhoods and the Peninsula.
Getting There
The M-Ocean View Muni Metro line stops at Stonestown. The 17, 28, and 29 serve the area. The Sunset stays cool and foggy on summer mornings, so bring a layer.
