Author events and book signings happen regularly, many hosted at the sister location, Green Apple Books on the Park. Green Apple acquired Browser Books on Fillmore Street in 2019 and opened a Green Apple Books @ SFO location in Harvey Milk Terminal 1.
The Story
Richard Savoy opened Green Apple in 1967 in a 750-square-foot space at the corner of Clement Street and 6th Avenue. The store expanded in 1996, taking over neighboring storefronts and adding new and used music after acquiring Revolver Records. In 2021 it scaled back to a smaller footprint, cutting DVDs, magazines, and gifts.

On Clement Street at 6th Avenue. Open daily 10am to 9pm. Buyback hours 10am to 6pm. Free to browse.
Getting there
The 38-Geary bus runs one block north of Clement on Geary Boulevard, with the closest stop at Geary & 6th Ave. The 1-California runs one block south on California Street. Street parking on the side streets off Clement is usually available.
