About Pacific Heights
Pacific Heights坐落於北邊的Marina與南邊的Western Addition之間的山脊上。自1870年代起，隨著纜車讓陡峭山丘上的居住變得可行，這裡開始發展成為富裕的住宅區。建商在街區中蓋滿了維多利亞式，以及後來的愛德華式房屋，其中許多規模宏大。
該社區之所以保留了大量早期房屋，是因為1906年地震後的大火在東側的Van Ness Avenue被擋下。位於Franklin Street上的Haas-Lilienthal House，一棟建於1886年的Queen Anne風格維多利亞式建築，倖存至今，如今由San Francisco Heritage經營成為博物館，是該時期唯一一棟定期對外開放的完整私人住宅。
隨著財富的增長，更大型的豪宅相繼出現。糖業大亨Claus Spreckels之子Adolph Spreckels，在1913年前後於2080 Washington Street興建了Spreckels Mansion，由George Applegarth以法式風格設計。沿著北側山脊的Broadway一帶，擁有全San Francisco數一數二昂貴的房地產。
