Biscuits and Blues
The Verdict
"Local players on weeknights, touring acts on weekends. Sit down and order the fried chicken; food is served through the set."
What you need to know
Biscuits and Blues is a basement blues and Southern food club near Union Square, open since 1995. The room seats about 100 around a stage, and you reach it down a staircase from street level.
What to Expect
Live music runs most nights, with shows starting around 7:30 or 8pm. The booking covers blues, soul, funk, and the occasional R&B or roots act, with Bay Area pros on weeknights and touring national acts on weekends. Reservations are a good idea on weekends.
