Deleting your SFGuide account
This page explains how to request deletion of your SFGuide account and the data associated with it.
Option 1: Delete in the app (fastest)
The SFGuide app for iOS and Android includes an in-app account deletion option:
- Open the SFGuide app on your phone
- Tap the Saved tab at the bottom
- Tap the gear icon to open Settings
- Scroll down and tap Delete Account
- Confirm the deletion
This immediately removes your account and all associated data from our servers.
Option 2: Email request
If you cannot access the app, email [email protected] with the subject line “Delete my SFGuide account” from the email address associated with your account. Your account will be deleted within 7 days of receiving your request.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from our servers:
- Your account record (email address, Google or Apple sign-in identifier)
- All saved places (restaurants, bars, activities, venues, events)
- All custom tours you have built
- Any preferences or settings tied to your account
What is retained
The following data may be retained briefly for technical and legal reasons:
- Crash logs and diagnostics: Anonymized crash reports collected via Firebase Crashlytics are retained for up to 90 days for app stability monitoring. These do not contain personally identifying information.
- Server logs: Standard web server access logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse prevention.
