What Makes It Worth It

The setting makes this. Skating under stained glass windows with colored lights bouncing off church walls is genuinely surreal. The DJ plays a mix of funk, disco, and modern tracks. The crowd is all ages: kids’ sessions in the afternoon, adult skate nights in the evening.

You don’t need to know how to skate. Rental skates are available, and the floor is forgiving for beginners. Regulars weave through the crowd with moves they’ve been perfecting for years. The vibe is welcoming, not competitive.

Skip this if you’re not into loud music or crowded spaces. Friday and Saturday nights get packed. Also worth noting: the floor is wood over the original church foundation, so it can be uneven in spots.

Getting There

Transit: Muni 22-Fillmore bus stops right at the door. The 6-Haight/Parnassus and 7-Haight/Noriega are also close.

Parking: Street parking on Fillmore and surrounding blocks. Easier on weeknights.

Walking: A few blocks from the Western Addition and Alamo Square. Combine with a walk past the Painted Ladies if you’re in the area.
