What you need to know
Oracle Park opened in 2000 as the home of the San Francisco Giants. The park sits on the waterfront at China Basin, with right field opening onto McCovey Cove and the Bay Bridge visible past center field. The Giants season runs April through October.
What to Expect
The park holds about 41,000 people. The upper deck along the third-base line gets windy after sunset. Concessions include garlic fries, Ghirardelli sundaes served in a souvenir helmet, Crazy Crab’z sandwiches, and a Belgian fries stand.
The promenade behind right field is open to the public on game days and looks across to McCovey Cove. Kayakers float in the cove during games waiting for home runs hit over the right-field wall. The public viewing area at the right-field arcade allows non-ticketed people to watch a portion of any game through the fence.
Non-baseball events include concerts, college football, and other sports. Guided ballpark tours run on non-game days.
