The Beehive

📍 🍸 Cocktail Bar

The Verdict

"A Negroni at the bar. Mid-century room, jazz on the speakers, plus a list of seven Negroni variations."

What you need to know

The Concept

The Beehive opened on Valencia in 2018 from the team behind Range and The Treasury. The space is a deliberate 1960s throwback: honeycomb wallpaper, wood-paneled walls, low-slung seating, smoked mirrors, and Jetsons-era lamps. The room reads more Mad Men cocktail party than craft-cocktail temple, and that’s the point.

The Drinks

Era-appropriate craft cocktails anchor the menu. Negronis are a category here with multiple variations on the printed list. Mezcal fondue and Tang slushies show up too, leaning into the bar’s playful side. The cocktails are made with serious technique even when the format is goofy.

The Food

Chef Phil West (Range, The Treasury) and Executive Chef Byron Gee run a fondue-forward menu. Cheese fondue, mezcal fondue, dipping plates, and bar snacks designed to pair with cocktails rather than fill in for dinner.

The Space

The main room is the bar itself, with capacity for around 50. The Lounge is a separate 1,000-square-foot private room with its own entrance on Cunningham Place, available for buyouts of 12 or more.
