Het verhaal
Gary Frank opende The Booksmith aan Haight Street in oktober 1976. De huidige eigenaren Christin Evans en Praveen Madan kochten de winkel in 2007 van hem. San Francisco verleende Booksmith in oktober 2016 Legacy Business-status.

Hoe er te komen
Aan Haight Street tussen Cole en Shrader, op loopafstand van Amoeba Music. De N-Judah stopt bij Carl en Cole, ongeveer vier blokken naar het zuiden. De bussen 6-Haight/Parnassus en 7-Haight/Noriega rijden op Haight Street.
