T&T Supermarket Opens Its First San Francisco Store November 5 at Geary and Masonic

T&T Supermarket, the Canadian Asian grocery chain, opens its first San Francisco store at 9am on Thursday, November 5, 2026. The store is at City Center, 2675 Geary Blvd., Suite 300, at Geary Boulevard and Masonic Avenue, according to the company’s announcement published by The Shelby Report on October 7. It is the chain’s second Bay Area store, after San Jose opened in June.

What Is Inside

The store covers about 50,000 square feet on the upper level of the City Center plaza, SFist reported. The company lists these departments:

  • T&T Cafe, the first in the United States, with made-to-order lattes and drinks built on Asian flavors. SFist reported black sesame and ube lattes and Portuguese egg tarts.
  • T&T Kitchen, with made-to-order Taiwanese rice rolls and Baby Bear Bao, plus a hot food bar, a barbecue station and a sushi counter.
  • T&T Bakery, with more than 300 breads, desserts and pastries baked in the store each day.
  • Produce, from seasonal fruit such as Fuyu persimmons to Korean Shine Muscat grapes. SFist put the count at about 200 kinds of vegetables and 100 kinds of fruit.
  • More than 300 T&T house-brand products, including soup dumplings, green onion pancakes, Taiwanese-style sausages and sauces.
  • Korean and Japanese beauty and personal care products and gifts from across Asia.

SFist also reported live seafood and specialty meats including wagyu beef, and two San Jose items coming north: Papa Chicken, a whole butterflied chicken that is marinated, battered and fried, and made-to-order fan tuan, the Taiwanese rice roll.

What It Costs: The San Jose Guide

T&T has not published San Francisco prices. At the San Jose store, 1600 Saratoga Ave., The San Francisco Standard found Papa Chicken at $15, sticky rice rolls at $6.99, a char siu pork and roast duck combo at $15.99 and a party sushi tray at $34.99. The Standard also noted a reduced-price section and a free T&T app with deals and delivery codes, and reported weekday lines of up to 20 minutes for crepes and sticky rice rolls in San Jose. SFist reported that the San Jose store drew about 60,000 visitors on its opening weekend, so plan for a crowd on November 5.

Regular store hours for San Francisco had not been posted as of October 28; the company has announced only the 9am opening.

A Space Empty Since 2017

Best Buy left the upper level of City Center in 2017. Whole Foods planned a store there, but permitting problems stalled it, and Whole Foods and the property owner, Acadia Realty Trust, ended the lease; T&T took over the space in March 2025, SFist reported. The San Francisco Examiner also covered T&T’s move into the once-proposed Whole Foods site.

T&T CEO Tina Lee told SFist she contacted Daniel Lurie in late 2024, before he took office, ahead of committing to the lease. “I was very nervous about opening a store in San Francisco,” she said. Lee credited the city’s PermitSF system with moving the store’s permits quickly, SFist reported. Lurie said, “Grocery stores are an important part of a thriving city, and T&T is making a major investment in San Francisco.”

Where T&T Goes Next

T&T was founded in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1993 and runs more than 40 stores in Canada and the U.S., according to the company’s announcement. Its first U.S. store opened in Bellevue, Washington, in December 2024. A third Bay Area store is planned for Millbrae, in a former Lucky supermarket, and SFist reported it is not expected before summer or fall 2027. SFist also reported plans for a 72,600-square-foot store in a former Macy’s in Newark for winter 2027.

Getting There

City Center is in Anza Vista, on the corner of Geary Boulevard and Masonic Avenue. Muni’s 38 Geary and 38R Geary Rapid run along Geary Boulevard, and the 43 Masonic runs on Masonic Avenue. The store is listed as Suite 300, on the plaza’s upper level.

T&T is one of several openings on our November 2026 guide, which also covers the two ice rinks that open on November 4. For more ideas, see our guide to things to do in San Francisco.
