Best Nightclubs and Dance Floors in San Francisco

Thirteen rooms, ranked by sound system and dance floor rather than by door policy or bottle service. SoMa holds most of them, the Mission holds the rest, and the two scenes want fairly different things out of a night.

Almost none of these get going before midnight. Check the listing rather than the venue, because a lot of these rooms run a different promoter and a different genre every night of the week.
