Che Fico Reopens on Divisadero October 18, Four Months After a June Fire

Che Fico, the Italian restaurant at 838 Divisadero St. in NoPa, will reopen on Sunday, October 18, 2026, four months after a June fire closed it. Co-owner and executive chef David Nayfeld announced the date on Instagram, writing that the restaurant’s lights and sign “will be back on,” Hoodline reported. The San Francisco Chronicle also reported the date.

Reservations

The restaurant’s website now carries a banner announcing the “grand reopening” and says Che Fico is taking reservations. Hoodline reports that bookings are open for October 18 onward and for private events. Before the fire it served dinner. Its menu is house-made pizza, pasta and salumi, per the restaurant’s own description, with James Beard Award winner Angela Pinkerton as executive pastry chef. Nayfeld co-owns the restaurant with Matt Brewer.

The restaurant had not posted its post-reopening hours or menu as of October 7. Check the website or the booking page before you go.

What Happened in June

The June fire damaged the rear of the building. No one was hurt, and no damage was found inside the dining room, according to Hoodline’s summary of earlier reports. Accounts of where it started differ: a San Francisco Fire Department source cited by SFist pointed to the flue connected to Che Fico’s grills and wood oven, while an SFFD lieutenant told the Chronicle the fire began in the kitchen flue of the neighboring Foghorn Taproom before spreading to the roof area around Che Fico.

The Other Che Fico Locations

The fire was at the Divisadero restaurant. Che Fico also runs a restaurant in Menlo Park and Che Fico Pizzeria at Chase Center in Mission Bay.
