Children’s Creativity Museum

Hands-on art and innovation at Yerba Buena
The Children’s Creativity Museum is a nonprofit museum at Yerba Buena Gardens focused on hands-on art, design, and innovation for kids. Two floors of multimedia exhibits let children build, create, animate, and experiment with technology and materials. San Francisco Magazine named it the city’s best children’s museum in 2025.
What kids can do
The exhibits are designed around making things rather than looking at things. Kids can create animations, build structures, experiment with music and sound, and work with physical materials. The programming changes regularly, so repeat visits offer new activities. The museum is geared toward children but the exhibits are engaging enough that parents don’t spend the whole visit on their phones.
Practical details
Admission costs $20 per person for anyone ages 1 and up. Members get in free. Same-day re-entry is allowed, so you can leave for lunch and come back. The museum is open Thursday through Sunday from 10am to 4pm and closed Monday through Wednesday.
Getting there
The museum is at 221 Fourth Street in Yerba Buena Gardens. Powell Street BART is about a five-minute walk. The 30 Stockton and 45 Union/Stockton buses stop nearby. The Fifth and Mission parking garage is the closest option if driving.
