Chat Room returns to Swedish American Hall for the final event of its second season, and the topic is food. Not just what’s for dinner, but the full picture: sourcing, labor, ingredients, and the cultural currents that turn one ingredient into the next big thing. Expect wide-ranging conversation covering everything from the economics of what ends up on your plate to the question of which food or flavor breaks through next, the way matcha, ube, and Dubai chocolate each had their moment. There’s also a nod to San Francisco’s own dining scene, including the rise of hybrid concepts like Japanese-Filipino vinyl listening cafés.
