San Francisco Dyke March 2026 Steps Off From Dolores Park at 5 p.m. Saturday
The San Francisco Dyke March returns to the Mission on Saturday, June 27, 2026. A street rally at 18th and Dolores Streets begins at 3 p.m., and the march steps off at 5 p.m. on a route the organizers list as about 2.2 miles before it loops back to Dolores Park. The march falls the day before the main SF Pride Parade on Sunday.
According to the SF Dyke March, the first march was held in June 1993 and drew about 10,000 people. Organizers count 2026 as the 34th year. The event has never relied on a city permit for the march itself.
The route
Per the SFMTA, the march heads out on 18th Street, then continues onto Valencia, 16th, Market, and Castro Streets before turning back onto 18th Street to return to Dolores Park. Streets along the route close to traffic, and Muni reroutes around the affected blocks while the march is underway.
Saturday’s schedule
The SF Dyke March has published a timeline for the day. The southbound lanes of Dolores Street between 18th and 20th close at noon. By 2 p.m., Dolores Street between 18th and 20th is fully closed in both directions, and 18th Street between Church and Dolores is closed as well. The street rally runs from 3 p.m. to about 4:30 p.m. at 18th and Dolores, the same corner where the march steps off. Line-up on Dolores Street begins at 4:30 p.m., and the march steps off at 5 p.m.
Organizers note that they do not hold a Recreation and Parks permit for programming inside Dolores Park and have nothing scheduled within the park itself, though people traditionally gather on the grass around midday.
Getting there
Transit is the practical way in, since the closures start at noon. The organizers list BART to the 16th Street Mission station, about a 13-minute walk to Dolores Park; the J Church light rail to Church and 18th Street; and the 33 bus to 18th and Dolores. Castro Station, served by the F, K/T, L, M, and S lines, is roughly a 13-minute walk from the park. The F line is affected by the march between about 5 and 6:30 p.m. Check 511.org for routing on the day.
Pride weekend context
The Dyke March is one of several events across SF Pride weekend. The 56th SF Pride Parade steps off Sunday, June 28, at 10:30 a.m. from Beale and Market Streets, followed by a two-day celebration at Civic Center Plaza. The Pink Triangle on Twin Peaks stays up through Sunday afternoon, and Frameline’s LGBTQ+ film festival ran through June 27 at the Castro Theatre.
