Handroll Hawker opens on Polk Street in Russian Hill in late September 2026, a counter-service restaurant built around Australian-style takeout hand rolls, a format San Francisco has not had before.
What to Expect
Owner Romi Trower, a Melbourne native, modeled the concept on Australian hand roll bars, where uncut sushi rolls are made fresh on-site daily for takeout or a quick dine-in seat. The menu includes rolls filled with spicy tuna, tempura shrimp, and salmon with avocado and cucumber. Seating is limited, and the format is built for orders to go.
