LINES Ballet + San Francisco Symphony: Two World Premieres

LINES Ballet continues its ongoing partnership with the San Francisco Symphony this November, bringing two world premiere choreographic works to Davies Symphony Hall. Artistic Director and Co-Founder Alonzo King has created new pieces set to two iconic classical works: Copland’s Suite from Appalachian Spring and Debussy’s Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune (Afternoon of a Faun). Conductor James Gaffigan leads the SF Symphony in this collaborative program, which also features Prokofiev’s Sinfonia concertante with SF Symphony Principal Cellist Rainer Eudeikis. The full orchestra performs live on stage alongside LINES’ dancers, creating an immersive dialogue between movement and sound. This is a rare opportunity to experience world premieres alongside live symphonic music, with both mediums breathing together in real time.
