The Chris Aschman Volcanic Band brings a distinctive sound to Madrone Art Bar, rooted in the San Francisco Bay Area but drawing from a wide musical geography. Led by Baltimore-born trumpeter and steelpan artist Chris Aschman, the ensemble weaves together hard bop, jazz fusion, and Caribbean rhythms into something that doesn’t fit neatly into any one box, which is precisely the point.
