Best Self-Guided Walks in San Francisco

Twelve routes I have walked with guests, written up so you can do them without me. Each one runs ninety minutes to three hours, starts at a transit stop and finishes somewhere you would want to eat.

Ranked by how well they work as a first walk in the city. Start with Chinatown or North Beach if you have never been. Save Pacific Heights and the Fillmore for a second visit, when the history lands harder.
