Bill Graham Civic Auditorium opened in 1915 across from City Hall. Capacity is 8,500. Renamed for the late concert promoter in 1992. The room hosts touring rock and pop acts, plus the occasional graduation or convention. Crystal chandeliers, plaster ornament, and a curved balcony. The acoustics are not the sharpest, but the room has the size and history that big tours want.
